As you can see, Hathbanger.com has been given an entirely new look. ANY visitor to the site can now set up a profile and upload content. Here’s a quick rundown on all the new features of the site:

Every member of the Hathbanger.com community is now given a profile. If you’re new to Hathbanger.com, you may register to the site by heading here, or by pressing on the Register link in the Login sidebar menu.

User profiles can be edited in the Profile Editor. Head there to set up your name, bio, website, location, and other preferences. You may also upload a profile image that will be used as your gravatar throughout the site.

Each member’s profile has a message board, where users can easily post quick comments, thoughts, and news. In addition to being viewed within your profile, this post will also be shared on the Community News Feed.

Members can also friend other members on the site. To view all Community Members, head to the Members page. By pressing the Add as a Friend link under a user’s name, you will send a friend request to that particular member. All friend requests can be seen under your Friend Requests page.

As said above, any visitor to the site can set up a profile and post content. However, if you sign up to the site on your own, you may only submit content to be reviewed. If the Hathbanger staff and Contributors find your content to be worthy of the site, it will be published and placed into the Community section, where it will be viewable to all visitors of Hathbanger.com.

To post content to the site, you can either press the Post Something link in the Login sidebar menu, or you can simply head here.

WHILE POSTING CONTENT TO THE SITE, there are a few things that we ask you do to speed up the posting process for both us and you. Please read the list below as they ARE important and will make the entire site function much better.

1. Please create an Excerpt for your post. Under the main body of your post, you will see an Excerpt section. Please make sure to write a quick one to two sentence summary of your post in this section.

2. Make sure to appropriately tag and categorize your post. Much of Hathbanger.com is run off of the use of Categories. Contributors please file your posts under the appropriate Contributors section, Community members under Community, etc.

3. Set up a thumbnail for your post. In the Post Something screen, scroll down to the WP Post Thumbnail section. Under Section 1 – Select Thumbnail, make sure you’re set to preset 1 (200px, 200px).

Under Section 2, there should be a list of the images you uploaded while creating your post. If they’re not there, press the reload button and they should appear. Select the desired image that you want to use as your post thumbnail.

The image you just selected should now appear below. Drag the box on the image to crop the thumbnail as you see fit and press the Save Thumbnail button under Section 3. Go back to the top of the window and Update your post to save your thumbnail.
